Xavier Rubert de Ventós
(b.1939) is a Catalan philosopher. De la Modernidad. Ensayos de filosofía crítica [From Modernity. Essays in Critical Philosophy, 1980], is considered his main work and outlines his philosophy.
De Ventós was a member of parliament for the Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (Socialist Party of Catalonia) from 1986 to 1986 and a European parliamentarian from 1986-1994. He resumed university teaching in 1995. Received the Creu de Sant Jordi (Saint George Cross) from the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia in 1999.Eurozine Articles
