
ARCHE seeks to generate ideas and act as a model of a liberal intellectual discourse, and at the same time to encouraging non-conformist literary and artistic creation. ARCHE is the only journal in Belarusian that publishes international intellectual thought and literary translations.
In 2000, Belarus Todaynoted that ARCHE "became extremely popular with university-academic circles, since it is the only wholly independent literary magazine in Belarusian published regularly". As an independent intellectual periodical, ARCHE seeks to contribute to the struggle for democracy.
Between 1998 and 2005 ARCHE has published works by Jurij Andrukhovych, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Ivajlo Dychev, Andrej Dynko, Nelly Bekus-Goncharova, Vaclav Havel, Zbigniew Herbert, Ismail Kadare, Edward Keenan, Tadeusz Konwicki, Taras Kuzio, Martin Malia, Richard Pipes, Isaak Bashevis Singer.
